NUS Green Fund award for LUU
Leeds University Union has successfully bid for almost £300,000 from the National Union of Students Green Fund to fund projects which will engage students in sustainability issues.
Some of the projects forming part of the Leeds Green Exchange bid for the NUS funding include:
- creating a fund to which students can apply if they have innovative ideas to engage their peers in sustainable activity
- pop-up Green Exchange spaces in faculties, halls of residence, and community areas, providing students with advice on green issues and suggesting ways to get involved
- expanding edible growing on campus, including a new roof garden on the Students' Union building
- working with the Residential Accommodation team to create behaviour change campaigns for halls of residence, and working with private sector landlords on issues such as back garden growing and recycling
