Some of the projects forming part of the Leeds Green Exchange bid for the NUS funding include:

  • creating a fund to which students can apply if they have innovative ideas to engage their peers in sustainable activity
  • pop-up Green Exchange spaces in faculties, halls of residence, and community areas, providing students with advice on green issues and suggesting ways to get involved
  • expanding edible growing on campus, including a new roof garden on the Students' Union building
  • working with the Residential Accommodation team to create behaviour change campaigns for halls of residence, and working with private sector landlords on issues such as back garden growing and recycling
