CBBC - Live in Leeds

Join some of CBBC's biggest stars and shows as they broadcast live from Millennium Square. Children can also take part in a host of hands-on activities in the interactive zones around the square.

CBBC is packing its bags and taking the channel on holiday for three days of action-packed events live from Leeds City Centre

Blue Peter, Newsround, Wild and the infamous Hacker T Dog are just some of the shows that are broadcasting live from Millennium Square during this summer holiday period. 

CBBC Live in Leeds is aimed at children aged 6 – 12 and is free to attend. The fun starts on Thursday 25 July and runs from 12 noon to 7pm on Thursday 25 and Friday 26; and from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 27 July. No tickets are required and families can simply turn up on the day although there may be a queuing system in place at busy times. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult and over 18s must be attending with a child.

Thursday 25 July
12noon – 2.30pm: Dick & Dom get the show on the road with an exciting line-up including Officially Amazing record attempt
(12.15pm & 2pm); Opera North Children’s Choir (12.45) and Hannah Richardson from new CBBC show The Music Promise (1.15pm)
2.30pm – 5.30pm: Blue Peter rehearsals
5.30pm – 6pm: Blue Peter live

Friday 26 July
12noon – 4pm: Sam & Mark are centre stage today and will be taking on their own Officially Amazing challenge
(12.10pm & 2.30pm); hosting a Comedy Palace showcase
(12.30pm & 3pm) and introducing Breeze Got Talent winners (1.15pm)

Saturday 27 July
9am – 10am: Wild live (NB This is a ticketed event)
12noon – 4pm: Naomi Wilkinson will be your host for a WILD afternoon, packed with animals, experts and much more!

It’s Your Go: You’ve seen the stars on the main stage and now it’s your turn to get involved! Have a go at presenting or working behind the camera in our mini studio; get your photo taken or try your hand at drawing CBBC favourites Dennis and Gnasher (Fri/Sat only). You’ll also find the first clues in our interactive Treasure Hunt – will you get to go to the secret CBBC Party?

Absolute Genius: The zone where you can prod, poke, think and wonder why. Join Fran Scott (Absolute Genius’s resident scientist) and her brilliant team of scientists as they intrigue you with interactive demonstrations, confuse your eyes with ‘Illusion Corner’’ and blow your mind with the explosive ‘Absolute Genius - The Best Bits’ stage show.

CBeebies Zone (for kids under 6): Come along to our CBeebies ‘Swashbuckle’ themed area where your little ones can make their own piratey crafts; meet cheeky pirates Cook and Line from the new CBeebies show and hear their tales of adventure or have a go at some online piratey games. Performances will run at regular intervals throughout the day - sign up on site.

Creative Zone (in City Museum): In the Creative Zone, you can have a go at all sorts of fun digital activities. Design a Dumping Ground poster, build a CBBC game, create an electronic badge or even learn to code! There is loads to make and do so come along and try something new. NB The Creative Zone does not open until 11am on the Saturday.
