University student named Student Employee of the Year

Ruth Quinn, final year Cultural Studies student, has won the annual Student Employee of the Year award (SEOTY) for her work as Exhibitions Assistant Intern at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery.

Layla Bloom, curator at the Gallery, said: “We’re all really proud in the team of the hard work Ruth has put into the ‘Jewish Artists in Yorkshire’ exhibition, which is now on show in the Gallery, and it’s even better that she’s been recognised across the University for her commitment.”

Started in 2002, the SEOTY awards have been one of the best ways to recognise those students, employers and institutions who engage in and promote student part-time work. As the largest scheme of its kind it is a national event and involves over 100 organisations from all over the country. Nomination means students gain vital proof of employability and skills to their CV.
