Bone density screening

June is national Osteoporisis month and on Thursday 6 June, the Occupational Health Service have arranged with OsteoCare East Midlands to provide fracture risk assessments at the University.

Osteoporosis is estimated to affect 1 in 2 women & 1 in 5 men over the age of 50. The test is done using ultrasound and is safe, accurate and painless. Results will be given immediately along with lifestyle advice. All that is needed from staff on the day is a bare foot and the fee of £20 (payable by cash or cheque).
