University continues its success with Athena SWAN

The University’s submission for renewal of the Athena SWAN Bronze Award has been successful.

This recognition reflects our progress towards ensuring support for the careers of women in our Science, Engineering and Technology Faculties.  Since the original submission in 2009 the Faculty of MaPS has achieved a Silver Award and the School of Healthcare a Bronze Award, to recognise their good practice in this area, whilst all other SET areas have begun this journey.

This is an important part of the University’s work to raise the profile of Equality and Inclusion for all of our staff and students and Jane Cahill, the recently appointed Athena SWAN Manager, will be working closely with all Faculties to disseminate good practice.
