Mrs June Watson

Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on 10 April 2013, of Mrs June Watson, former Receptionist and Clerical Assistant at Bretton Hall Campus.

June was initially appointed as Switchboard Operator in the Mansion House at Bretton Hall College in June 1989.  As the relationship between Bretton Hall the University became a more integrated one, June’s duties became more diverse and she was appointed as Conference Assistant within Residential and Commercial Services in 2001, leading to her skills being spread equally between Estate Services, RCS and the then Faculty of Music, Visual Arts and Communications.

June was reliable and hard-working, and was well known and liked by students, staff and customers alike.  She retired in 2007 after eighteen years’ service to both the College and the University.

The funeral service will be held at 1.00pm on Tuesday 23 April 2013 at Kexborough Methodist Church, Churchfield Lane, Darton, Barnsley, S75 5DN, followed at 2.00pm at Barnsley Crematorium & Cemetery, Doncaster Road, Ardsley, Barnsley, S71 5EH.  Refreshments will be served from 3.00pm at Kexborough Methodist Church.

The flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast in June’s memory on the day of the funeral.
