Wendy Parker

Colleagues will be very sorry to learn of the death, on 26 March 2013, of Miss Wendy Parker, former Assistant Librarian in the University Library.

Having previously held appointments at the Royal Society of Medicine and the University of Bath, Miss Parker took up her post at Leeds in April 1970.  Assigned initially to the Medical Library, she later became involved in the planning of the new Edward Boyle Library and, on its opening in 1975, took charge of the organisation and supervision of counter services. This weighty responsibility she discharged for some seventeen years with considerable expertise and devotion.  Miss Parker retired in 1992.

The funeral service will take place at 1.40pm on Thursday 11 April 2013 at Lawnswood Crematorium, Otley Road, Leeds, LS16 8AA.  Donations in place of flowers may be made to Action Research.  In Miss Parker’s memory, the flag will be flown at half-mast on the Parkinson Building on Thursday.

An obituary is being prepared.
