Get started with KRISTAL

The eagerly anticipated KRISTAL (Knowledge Research Innovation System at Leeds) Application was successfully launched across the University recently. Find out more about it and how to use it.

KRISTAL replaces COSTA and existing award acceptance tools and aims to help manage the University’s research grant portfolio by providing, a ‘one-stop-shop’ for proposal creation, grant management and reporting covering both pre and post-award.  KRISTAL also handles European awards and co-location awards spanning more than one academic unit, the use of KRISTAL for innovation grants is scheduled to follow early summer 2013. New Management Information System (MIS) reports using the Qlikview Tool will allow academic investigators to access information on spend against budget across their portfolio of projects on a daily basis.

Training on KRISTAL for academic and other users will be organised via Faculty Research and Innovation Offices (FRIO’s) with support from the central Research Innovation Services (RIS) team.  Centrally-run training for academic investigators began in December last year and will continue throughout this year supplemented by targeted assistance from FRIO’s for investigators planning applications with imminent submission deadlines.

Visit the RIS Training webpages for access to KRISTAL and Qlikview (MIS) training guides.  Please contact your Faculty Research Innovation Office to schedule any training required.
