Give your unwanted clothes a future

As part of the University’s partnership with M&S, the Sustainability team along with colleagues across campus are bringing “Shwop at Work” to you, the campaign which gives unwanted clothes a future.

Bring any items of clothing you no longer want into work on Friday 15 March, and you’ll receive a £5 M&S voucher (valid when you spend £35 or more in an M&S store on clothing or homeware).

One billion items of clothing a year are sent to landfill – that’s 1 in 4 items sold in the UK each year. The Shwopping campaign is trying to put an end to this, so all the clothes you bring in will be given to Oxfam to be resold, reused or recycled. Nothing goes to landfill and the money raised will go to help support people living in poverty.

Bring your unwanted clothes to any of the drop points below between 11am and 2pm to collect your free voucher:

  • Parkinson Court
  • Leeds University Union
  • M&S Company Archive, Michael Marks Building (Western Campus)
  • Refectory
  • Level 9, Marjorie & Arnold Ziff Building
  • Worsley Building
  • Engineering
