The pursuit of Lance Armstrong - an audience with David Walsh

UTravelActive invite all staff and students to an evening with David Walsh, Chief Sports Writer of the Sunday Times, on Wednesday 20 February.

Hear the Journalist and Sports Journalist of the Year talk about his 13-year pursuit of Lance Armstrong and how he uncovered what the chief executive of the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), Travis Tygart, called 'the greatest heist sport has ever seen'.  The evening will be split into two halves, with Walsh spending the first part of the evening talking about his pursuit of Armstrong, recounting the moments which led to the USADA's decision to strip Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles.  Following this he will be open to questions from the audience on his pursuit of Armstrong, the future for Armstrong and the sport he once dominated.  Questions on Walsh's career as a sports journalist in Britain and Ireland will also be encouraged.

David Walsh is Chief Sports Writer of The Sunday Times and four time UK sports journalist of the year.  He has written four books about Lance Armstrong, including the latest, Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong.  His career as a sports journalist has taken him around the world covering the Olympics, football world cups, rugby world cups and of course the Tour de France.
