Peepshows, tunnels and stories: Creative bookbinding with Louise Atkinson
The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery is hosting a creative workshop in which participants can explore the medium of bookmaking to create interpretative dioramas based on the gallery collections.
Using collage, drawing and sculptural techniques, participants will create their own tunnel book to take away.
Tunnel books consist of a set of pages bound with two folded concertina strips on each side and viewed through a hole in the cover. Openings in each page allow the viewer to see through the entire book to the back, and images on each page work together to create a dimensional scene inside.
The workshop will take place:
On: Saturday 15 December
At: 2-4pm
In: Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery
The session is free, but places are limited so please book in advance online, via email or by telephone (x32778).
