Faith in public life
This year's Hook Lecture will be led by Mona Siddiqui (Professor of Islamic and Interreligious Studies, University of Edinburgh) and will be titled: 'Faith in public life'.
Mona's areas of specialism are classical Islamic law, law and gender, early Islamic thought, and contemporary legal and ethical issues in Islam. She was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2011 for services to inter-faith relations.
The Hook Lectures are jointly organised by Leeds Church Institute, Leeds Minster, and Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Leeds. They bring together faith communities, the University and the city by addressing themes related to public life and the common good.
