Professor David Colquhoun to speak at LIGHT Institute seminar

Noted British pharmacologist, Professor David Colquhoun, is to speak at a LIGHT Institute seminar on Thursday 15 November titled ‘The corruption of science by managerialism and quackery’.

Professor Colquhoun, PHD, FRS, held the A.J. Clark Chair of Pharmacology at the University College of London (UCL) from 1985 to 2004, was Honorary Director of the Wellcome Laboratory for Molecular Pharmacology, and is now an Honorary Fellow and research assistant at UCL.

He is best known for his work on ion channels but is also active in the fight against pseudoscience, quackery and challenging the rapid rise of managerialism in universities.

The seminar will take place:

On:  Thursday 15 November

At:   4-5pm

In:   Worsley Medical Lecture Theatre (room 7.35, level 7 Worsley Building)
