Mrs Pauline Melia

Members will be sorry to learn of the death, on 10 October 2012, of Mrs Pauline Melia, a retired senior member of the clerical staff in the Registrar’s Office.

Appointed in 1970, Pauline was involved from the outset in the editing and proof-reading of University publications.  These included the volume giving details of the books and articles produced by members of staff, the  University Calendar and the University of Leeds Review.  Pauline brought scrupulous care and attention to detail to all that she did, as well as comprehensive knowledge of the workings of the University.  She retired from her post in 1989.

The funeral service and cremation will take place in Durham on Friday 19 October at 3.30pm.  In Pauline’s memory, the flag is to be flown at half-mast on the Parkinson Building on Friday.
