Changes to Central Teaching Space

Due to refurbishment of several Central Teaching Space rooms over the summer, Teaching Technology Support is advising that all users familiarise themselves with new equipment before teaching begins.

The refurbishment of these rooms means that it is very likely that new AV systems and lighting controls have been installed during the summer.  Training for the new equipment is available before first teaching sessions and can be booked via the Estates Helpdesk (35555).  Teaching Technology Support is also happy to attend for the first five minutes of a session to ensure that everything runs smoothly: this can also be booked through the Helpdesk.

Users are advised to check that the equipment required for teaching is available in the room they have been allocated as well as remembering that some rooms do not have traditional whiteboards, multi-region DVD playback of over-head projectors.  Your local timetabling assistant will be able to tell you exactly which equipment is installed in a specific room.

Finally, a reminder that it may take a few minutes to log in to the PCs installed in Central Teaching Space on your first visit because your user profile needs to be downloaded onto the PC.  Subsequent logins should be much quicker but please allow additional time before the start of your first lecture to account for this, or try to log in to the PC in advance of your first session.

Please contact the Helpdesk if you have any questions regarding the facilities or equipment in Central Teaching Space and also with any feedback regarding the newly refurbished space.
