In recognition of its longstanding association with the Competition, the University invited famous faces connected with the arts and Yorkshire to create a unique piano postcard by drawing, painting or photographing subjects related to the Competition. The result is a fascinating exhibition with art work from a uniquely diverse group of individuals ranging from Sir Paul McCartney (whose contribution is pictured above), distinguished writer Alan Bennett, and comedienne Jenny Eclaire, to singer-song writer and star of the Olympic opening and closing ceremonies, Emeli Sandé.

At the end of the exhibition, all artworks will be auctioned for charity with the proceeds going to music charities Live Music Now and Nordoff Robbins.

The exhibition runs from 17 September to 13 October 2012 at the Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery (open Monday to Saturday, 10.00am - 5.00pm).
