New lab opening in memory of Professor Roger Pollard

A new High Frequency Measurements Laboratory is opening on Friday 26 October in memory of Professor Roger Pollard, ex-dean of the Faculty of Engineering, who passed away at the end of last year.

The new laboratory in the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering will be home to Agilent Technologies 1.1 THz PNA network analyzer, the first such system in Europe, which will will form the centrepiece of the new Microwave, Millimetre-Wave and THz measurement facility.

The actual opening of the laboratory will be a private affair attended by Professor Pollard's family; however, all University and faculty staff, students and friends are invited to a wine reception followed by a Terahertz Technology lecture to mark the opening of the laboratory.

4.30 - 5.30pm – Wine reception (Electronic and Electrical Engineering foyer)

5.30 - 6.30pm - Terahertz Technology lecture by Professor Giles Davies - Rhodes Lecture Theatre.
