The science behind sporting success

An interactive exhibition at Leeds City Museum on 3 and 4 August 2012 gives you the chance to learn more about what makes a world athlete.

The exhibition, devised by David Lewis and Charlotte Haigh from the Faculty of Biological Sciences, explores how science is used to improve training strategy, looks at how performance is measured, and considers the ethical dilemmas posed by drugs in sport.

This is your chance to:

  • take the modern pentathlon Wii challenge
  • compare yourself to an Olympic athlete
  • take part in wheelchair basketball

There will be competitions for all ages and prizes to be won.

The exhibition is free and is open on Friday 3 August from 10am-5pm, and Saturday 4 August from 11am-5pm.
