Calling aspiring student journalists

The Leeds Centre for Canadian Studies has announced its inaugural Canadian Article Competition, inviting reflections on ‘Canada in the International Community’.

Though not open to staff, you may wish to encourage any students you know with a journalistic flair to take part in this competition which offers the winner a £30 prize and a place on the Centre’s blog, with the aim to highlight the journalistic skills of Leeds students.

The theme ‘Canada in the International Community’ can be interpreted from any subject or discipline, as long as a demonstration of knowledge on Canada and Canadian culture is present. Articles should be kept between 500-1,000 words and the deadline is Monday 6 August, Canada’s August Civic holiday.

Work should be submitted electronically to Christine Chettle.
