Expulsion: 40 years on

A series of performances, storytelling, and food-tasting in Leeds on 14 July will mark the 40th anniversary of the expulsion of the South Asian community from Uganda.

As well as interactive workshops open to all, Hansa of Hansa's Restaurant on North Street will tell her migration story and offer a food-tasting session, and between 3 and 4pm the political commentator and journalist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown will perform her one-woman show Nowhere to Belong about her own migration experience.

See the full programme of events and reserve free tickets for Nowhere to Belong.

The event is free and is funded by the University and by Arts Council England.  It shares doctoral research being carried out in the School of English with the wider community.
