Supporting staff who are carers

Following the success of last year’s information event for staff with caring responsibilities, two events linked to National Carers’ Week have been organised:

Staff carers information event - 21 June, 11.30am–2.00pm, Staff Centre lounge

This annual information drop-in event enables staff to find out about the support, facilities and local services available to carers.  Stands include: Human Resources and the Equality Service, Occupational Health/Staff Counselling & Psychological Services, Carers Leeds and the Centre for International Research on Care, Labour and Equalities (CIRCLE).

Supporting carers in the workplace - 28 June, 12.30–1.30pm, SR11.15 Social Sciences Building

Facilitated by: Dr Andrea Wigfield, Centre for International Research on Care, Labour and Equalities (CIRCLE) and Katherine Wilson, Employers for Carers.  This 60-minute workshop aims to explore good practice examples of providing flexible support to members of staff who are carers and also to discuss the barriers or opportunities that these approaches could bring to participants own work environment.

For more information about either event or to register your interest please contact the Equality Service.
