M&S and University 'Make Your Mark' event

Marks & Spencer and the University of Leeds present the 'Make Your Mark' networking series which offers a unique opportunity for business and higher education to come together to mutual benefit.

Each lecture will feature a focused theme, with a business and educational edge, delivered by speakers of the highest calibre. Topics including e-commerce, corporate governance, design and brand, international business and sustainable building and social responsibility will be discussed by M&S executives and academic experts, whilst open Q&A and an opportunity to network afterwards ensures this is a great and productive way to spend a couple of hours for business and academic delegates alike.

The events are free and open to all. The first event is at 10:30 am, Friday 29 June in the Western Lecture Theatre.

10:30 Event Opens, Registration and Introduction

11:00 Keynote address: 'Bricks & Clicks'

Keynote speaker Laura Wade-Gery, M&S Executive Director for Multi-channel E-commerce, talks about how one of the world's most iconic high street names is transforming its presence with a multi-channel store and e-commerce offer.

Laura joined the Marks & Spencer board in July 2011, bringing considerable retail and consumer experience, as well as significant knowledge of e-commerce.  Laura was previously at Tesco plc, where she held a variety of senior roles from 1997: She was the Chief Executive Officer of Tesco.com and Tesco Direct, and prior to that, she was Group Strategy Director and the Marketing Director for Clubcard.

Before joining Tesco, Laura held various roles at Gemini Consulting and Kleinwort Benson. She has been a non-executive director of Trinity Mirror since 2006.
