School of Healthcare - Mixed Methods International Conference

The 8th Mixed Methods International Conference takes place on 18- 21 June, and features keynote speeches from Professor Burke Johnson and Professor Rena Pasik.

The international scope of Mixed Methods research is without question, and this year it is developing two particular elements that have strong affiliation with this method; education and culture.  The conference provides a unique and supportive international forum for fostering ideas and is structured around the usual three broad themes:

  • philosophical and methodological considerations
  • real world applications
  • alternative approaches to mixing both art and science and science and social science.

This collegial and collaborative approach has taken root and Mixed Methods is an emergent international research force, which is reflected at this prestigious conference.

As part of the Conference, we also have two days of workshops running from the 20-21 June with presenters such as the Univesity's Professor Ray Pawson and Dr Nancy Gerber (Drexel University). The conference and workshops provide a wealth of paradigm debates, design possibilities and innovative techniques for sharing and debating, raising the quality and depth of quantitative and qualitative research around the world.

Conference places and workshops can be booked separately, by visiting the Healthcare conference site. More details are also available by calling ext 31300 or emailing: mixedmethods@leeds.ac.uk
