Enhancing student education

Dr Samantha Pugh will lead a seminar on Wednesday 9 May on developments which have been introduced to enhance student education in Mathematics and Physical Sciences.

The presentation will highlight a number of different innovations in MaPS that have been introduced to enhance student support and to develop the curriculum.  All of the projects have broadly focused on skills development, both inside of the taught curriculum and via co-curricular activities.

The projects also include those that have been developed with support from the National HE STEM Programme.

The mechanism for operating the Industrial Placement Year within a four year Integrated Masters programme, which is well established (and the programme is accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry) will also be discussed.

All of the activities that will be presented have the potential to be transferable into other disciplines and all are welcome.

The seminar will take place:
