M&S and the Second World War

Join M&S Company Archivist Katharine Carter on Tuesday 8 May to hear more about the impressive M&S war effort, and the contributions of employees who went above and beyond to 'do their bit'.

During the Second World War, Marks & Spencer went shoulder-to-shoulder with the nation in trying to 'Keep Calm and Carry On' when presented with the many challenges of the day. As well as running our business and keeping our customers happy, we also had employees to care for, both at home and in the services. In addition, there was enemy bombardment and the short supply of clothing and food to contend with.

Katharine's talk will take place:

On:  Tuesday 8 May 2012

At:   1.00-1.30pm

In:   M&S Company Archive

The talk is free but seating space is limited, so please contact the Company Archive to book you place (tel. 0208 718 2800).
