Tales and trails: a new term at the Burton Gallery

The Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery marks the start of term with a new exhibition opening on 2 May and a collage workshop on 5 May.

Paper Trails: Treasures on Paper,which will run from 2 May to 28 July 2012, will feature highlights on paper from the University Art Collection and tell the story behind the works, which include early English watercolours, 20th century drawings and recent prints.

There will be a free opening reception on 1 May from 6-8pm, at which all are welcome.

Intervention! a collage workshop with Hondartza Fraga, will respond to Matt Smith's Other Stories exhibition, and participants will be invited to weave extracts of the stories into collages.  All materials will be provided, but participants are also welcome to bring their own.
