Enterprise for researchers
Director of the Yorkshire Enterprise Fellowship programme, Dr Suzanne Emmett, will give a whistle-stop introduction to commercialising research findings in a half-day course on 24 April.
In this introductory course, it will not be possible to cover topics in depth but detailed support materials and suggestions for further reading will be provided.
At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
- carry out initial market research to validate a potential commercial opportunity arising from their research
- identify the various types of protection available for intellectual property and how/when to apply
- create an initial business plan
- understand financing options available and how to make an investment pitch
