Creating and sustaining a balanced talent pipeline

Discuss the challenges of creating a progression of female talent to senior management positions with an expert panel at the next LUBS FT Masterclass on 2 May 2012.

The panel will consist of senior practitioners and experts, including:

- Andi Keeling, Director RBS
- Sarah Day, Office Managing Partner, DLA Piper
- Heather Jackson, CEO, An Inspirational Journey
- Jennifer Tomlinson, Senior Lecturer Employment Relations, LUBS

The discussion will be introduced and chaired by Linda Pollard, Pro-Chancellor of the University of Leeds and Chair of the Two Percent Club in Yorkshire.

The event is expected to generate a a lively discussion around the following questions:

  • How can we create a healthy and balanced flow of talent regardless of gender, but also sove the current leaks in the pipeline through which organisations lose female talent?
  • What is at the heart of imbalance? What is considered to be good business performance through talent diversity?
  • How do we address these issues in the UK, and is there a role for the EU and legislation? Can the UK lead by example?

The Masterclass will be preceded by a LUBS seminar, 'Promoting equality in positions of leadership: looking forward', led by Dr Jennifer Tomlinson and Dr Liz Oliver.  The interactive seminar will explore:

  • key concepts of gender equality and business leadership
  • challenges associated with delivering gender equality
  • legal and policy tools to advance equality
