Deputy Vice-Chancellor appointed to Board of Marketing Leeds

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor John Fisher has been appointed as a non-executive director of Marketing Leeds.

The appointment is part of a major move to refocus and provide strategic leadership to Marketing Leeds as it moves forward with a broader role to attract inward investment and tourism.

A total of nine non-executive directors have been appointed, including Nigel Foster, Director of Ove Arup and Partners Ltd and University Council member.

They will join Chairman Andy Clarke, Deputy Chairman Roger Marsh and Lurene Joseph, who commences as Chief Executive on 30 April.

The Board will oversee a series of programmes and initiatives as Marketing Leeds widens its focus to drive economic growth in the city and ensure Leeds achieves its ambition to be the best city in the UK.

The new Board members commenced their role with immediate effect.
