Changes to EPSRC funding

Dr Clive Hayter, Associate Director (Capability) at the EPSRC is visiting the University on Wednesday 28 March to give a presentation on some important developments in EPSRC funding.

In this financial year there will be a considerable increase in funding available from EPSRC (around £900M is to be committed).  The figure drops to around £250 million from April 2013.  Therefore this is an excellent opportunity to find out about how you can maximise your chances of submitting a successful proposal to the EPSRC this year.

The presentation will cover the following areas:-

Shaping Capability - the final tranche of areas to be supported is scheduled to be announced on 28 March
National Importance - all applications submitted to the EPSRC are now also assessed on national importance
Planned New Commitments 2012/13 - EPSRC will have a substantial temporary increase in new funding available in the year April 2012 to March 2013.
