Improving outcomes for children, young people and families

The Lifelong Learning Centre is running a one-off seminar chaired by Leeds City Council's Deputy Director of Children's Services, exploring how adult and children's services can work together.

The seminar will take place:

On:  Tuesday 13 March 2012

At:   5.30-7.30pm

In:   Parkinson Building

The seminar is open to anyone with an interest in the subject and will be free to attend.

There will be two sessions.

The first session, delivered by Angela Scholes, Gemma Hornby and Alex Whincup looks at the support available to women who become pregnant whilst misusing substances and follows their journey through the Leeds Addiction Unit, maternity and Community Drug Treatment services and look at how their children are supported from birth by paediatric services.

Dr Chris Butler will lead the second session which considers how Adult Mental Health Services work with Children and Young People's Social Care to get the balance right between supporting parents and safeguarding children and young people.
