The Library's Head of Special Collections

At the end of the academic year 2012/13 Chris Sheppard, the Library's Head of Special Collections, will retire from the University.

Over the past thirty years he has built on the Brotherton legacy to establish our Special Collections as among the most impressive of any in the UK.

Because his shoes will be so hard to fill we have decided to bring forward the recruitment of his successor, and I am delighted to announce the appointment of Katy Goodrum as Head of Special Collections.  Katy is currently Head of Archives for West Yorkshire and will take up her new appointment on 11 April.

Chris will then move to a new role focused on several key Special Collections projects including the development and exploitation of our rich literary archive collections.  As Brotherton Fellow, he will also support Katy as she familiarises herself with the range and depth of collections and the activities associated with them.
