Women volunteers needed for exercise study

The Faculty of Biological Sciences and Institute of Psychology Sciences are looking for volunteers to participate in an exercise study.

The study aims to assess the impact of body size on cardiovascular and cognitive functions in women with a body mass index (BMI) of 30kg/m2 or more.  It will provide you with information on the health of your arteries, heart function, body composition and fitness.

If you would like to be part of the study the research team would then investigate the impact of a 12-week exercise programme on aspects of your health. You would need to attend the Physiology lab twice a week during the 12-week study for 30-minute exercise sessions using a stationary cycle.

You would need to be:

  • a non-smoker
  • female
  • aged 30-55 years
  • have a BMI of 30kg/m2 or more
  • free of any cardiovascular problems, respiratory conditions or diabetes

Check your BMI.

If you would like any further information about the study or would like to volunteer, please contact Amy Weeks (07742 516853).
