The Shadow Followers: projection and photography workshop

Photographer, researcher and filmmaker Simon Warner will lead a projection and photography workshop at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery on Saturday 28 January from 2-4pm.

Taking its inspiration from 'The Shadow Followers', a piece in the current exhibition of new work by Pip Dickens, this workshop uses layering and sequencing techniques to turn simple shadow screen images into narrative-rich photo art.  After exploring the motifs and themes of the exhibition, visitors will invent their own by layering shapes and patterns or using silhouette profiles.  A 35mm slide projector and Victorian magic lantern projector will be available to create further effects.  Bring along pictures on a memory stick or CD to create a personal background.

Your completed work will be photographed and sent out in an email for you to keep.

The workshop is free, but places are limited so please book your place in advance by e-mail, calling (0113) 343 2778, or online

For more information see the Gallery website or contact: Liz Stainforth (Marketing and Events Assistant) on (0113) 343 2778.
