University equipment database now live

The University's searchable database of all equipment it has which costs more than £25,000 is now live.

When making any research grant application including equipment costing more than £10,000, Principal Investigators should first of all check that the University either does not already own equivalent equipment or, if it does own such equipment, that it cannot be used in the planned research.

Principal Investigators can use the searchable database to check for all equipment costing between £10,000 and £25,000.  Local equipment champions can check whether the equipment is available within their school.

If suitable equipment is available already within the University, then arrangements should be made to share it rather than applying for further equipment.

If the University does not already have suitable equipment, then the application should proceed.

Pleae note that the EPSRC has published a new process for equipment applications.
