Emeritus Professor Andrew Beeby
Members will be sorry to learn of the death of Emeritus Professor Andrew Beeby, former Institution of Structural Engineers’ Chair of Structural Design in the School of Civil Engineering.
Professor Beeby died on 28 October 2011.
He came to the University in 1991 after twenty-seven years with the Cement and Concrete Association (C&CA), his research covering a wide range of topics, such as impact resistance of concrete beams, cracking and corrosion, alkali-silica reaction, shear and bond.
Professor Beeby retired from the University in 2004, at which time the title of Emeritus Professor was bestowed upon him.
The funeral service will take place at 12.20pm on Thursday 10 November 2011 at York Crematorium, Bishopthorpe Road, Middlethorpe, York, YO23 2QD. Family flowers only please.
In Professor Beeby's memory, the flag will be flown at half-mast on the Parkinson Building next Thursday.
