LGBT staff network

Black and minority ethnic (BME), disabled and lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) staff groups have each identified an interest in developing staff networks.

This is as a result of an extensive programme of involvement and consultation that was carried out with staff in the development of the Single Equality Scheme.

Staff networks enable opportunities for staff to share experiences and explore the value of continued professional and personal development.  Other benefits for such a network include the opportunity for staff to be consulted and engaged with core University activities and to contribute to the development of University policies and/or good practice.

An initial meeting has been arranged to discuss the development of a LGBT staff network.

The LGBT staff network will be set up so that the agenda and focus is owned by LGBT staff.  The initial meeting will aim to explore the idea of a staff network, membership, terms of reference, potential agenda items for discussion and action.

The meeting will take place:

On:  Tuesday 1 November 2011

At:   12.30-2.00pm (refreshments will be available: feel free to bring lunch with you)

Please contact the Equality Service (ext. 37546) to confirm your attendance, for venue details and further information.

  • This event is being co-ordinated and facilitated by the Equality Service.
