BBSRC and Wellcome Trust Innovation Workshop

Representatives from BBSRC and the Wellcome Trust will be presenting a workshop on 20 October on their programmes for funding innovation and technology transfer.

Dr Alex Chaix, Senior Innovation Manager from BBSRC will be talking about the importance of intellectual assets compared to solely intellectual property rights and some of the mechanisms used by BBSRC to foster innovation and facilitate knowledge exchange and commercialisation (Research and Technology Clubs, Follow-on Funding, etc)

Dr Bethan Hughes from the Technology Transfer Team at Wellcome will talk about their funding streams where applicants need to have early validation of their potential healthcare solution (therapeutic/diagnostic/enabling technology).

The programme is as follows:-

10.00am - 12.15pm
Presentations from BBSRC and Wellcome Trust, followed by discussions
Venue: University Staff Centre (formerly the dining area in the Senior Common Room)

1.45pm - 3.00pm
One-to-one surgery sessions (15 minutes each) with either Alex or Bethan - these will need to be booked in advance and you will be provided with your own appointment.
