Open day - Saturday 8 October

Just to remind all staff that this Saturday (8 October) is a University open day, and we are expecting to host thousands of prospective students on the day.

There is plenty of information about what is happening throughout the day on the Open Days website.

The June Open Days were a great success.  95% of visitors rated their experience as good or excellent and over 90% said that staff were helpful, that there was a good atmosphere on campus, and that the campus was clean and tidy.  All of those visiting on Saturday will be paying the higher fee so it is more important than ever that we build on the success in June and maintain the good impression we made then.

If pre-registrations are an accurate measure, we can expect even higher visitor numbers than those achieved at the June Open Days.  If you see anyone looking lost do please stop and help or point them in the direction of one of the many student ambassadors (in red t-shirts).

If you are working on Open Day you may have heard that the road works on the Inner Ring Road A58M have finished, but there is ongoing disruption to the Woodhouse Lane car park.  As we are anticipating high visitor numbers, and with a number of activities starting at 9am, we advise you to allow extra time for your journey if you are coming by car to ensure you are here in plenty of time, and before our visitors.
