Severe weather warning

The City Council’s Emergency Planning Unit has reported the following:

A severe weather warning is currently in place for the West Yorkshire Area until 23:59 today, Monday 12 September. The possibility of Leeds becoming affected increases as the day goes on. There may be winds of around 45-50mph with the localised gusts of up to 70mph in exposed locations, before easing to about 35mph through the night. There may be disruption to transport, therefore road users should be cautious for debris blowing into the road.  Please ensure you take care when travelling in exposed areas whether on foot or in your vehicle on Monday. 

Bridgewater Place is closed to high sided vehicles (only) and will remain so until Wednesday.
