Leeds shortlisted for University of the Year

Leeds has enjoyed double success in the Sunday Times University Guide after being shortlisted for the University of the Year award. The University also rose from 26 to 24 in the national league table.

Leeds is the only institution in the Russell Group to be shortlisted for the University of the Year award. Essex, Robert Gordon and Surrey were also shortlisted, with the University of Bath taking first prize.

The Sunday Times shortlisted Leeds because the University is "ahead of the curve in announcing a partnership agreement with all students" and because of the focus on student employability.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Michael Arthur said: "This is a great outcome and reflects the hard work and commitment of our staff and students."
