Professor David Crolla
It is with deep sadness that we have to report the sudden death, on 4 September 2011, of Visiting Professor David Crolla, School of Mechanical Engineering.
David was originally appointed as a Lecturer in the School in 1979 and was subsequently promoted to Senior Lecturer and Reader before being appointed to a Chair of Automotive Engineering in 1993. He stepped down from his Chair in 2005 but had continued to maintain strong academic links with his Department, as well as with the Universities of Cranfield and Sunderland. David was an international authority on vehicle dynamics and control.
The University extends its deepest sympathy to David's wife and family.
