ALPS to showcase its work in September

The Assessment and Learning in Practice Settings (ALPS) network will be showcasing its work and the resources it has developed at a one-day event at Weetwood in September. All are invited to attend.

ALPS is a multi-award-winning collaborative programme which has been working for the last six years to ensure that students are confident and competent to practise when graduating from health and social care courses.

It has involved five universities (Leeds, Bradford, Leeds Metropolitan, Huddersfield and York St John), 16 health and social care professions, the Strategic Health Authority and industry. Those involved in the programme have been working to improve assessment and learning opportunities offered to students whilst training in practice.

In October 2010 ALPS set up six networks in the areas of mobile learning , e-portfolios, competency mapping, accessibility & technology use, patient & carer voice and the use of the Competence in Practice Assessment tool (CiPA) to support personal development.

At the ALPS Showcase each of the ALPS networks will be presenting their work, sharing their experiences and inviting you to explore the resources they have developed. The day will be a mix of presentations and hands-on interactive workshops.

The showcase will take place:

On:  Friday 16 September 2011

At:   Weetwood Hall, Leeds, LS16 5PS

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Further details will be announced on the ALPS website as they become available. Please register now to secure your place and copy of the limited edition ALPS Casebook.
