Are research staff associations good value?

The UK Research Staff Association is looking into how research staff associations in all their forms operate and whether they offer good value to universities.

It is conducting a survey aimed at any research staff who are members of an association, which can be any group that organises training for researchers, represents their interests or helps with researcher career development

The Association is hoping to discover:

  • how associations are organised
  • what value they offer to institutions
  • how they are recognised by senior staff
  • the best way to build and sustain an association

The results of the survey will be presented at the Vitae Research Staff Conference on 3 November 2011 at the Queen's Hotel in Leeds.  The conference will be free to attend.

The survey should take around 15 minutes to complete.

Take part in the survey.
