Healthy female volunteers needed

Women volunteers aged between 35 and 50 are needed for a study being conducted in the Faculty of Biological Sciences.

The study aims to assess the impact of body size on cardiovascular and cognitive function in women with a body mass index (BMI) of at least 30. Volunteers will be given information on the health of their arteries, heart function, body composition and fitness, and will receive an ultrasound scan of their heart and visual clips of their heart beating.

Volunteers need to be non-smokers and have:

  • no cardiovascular problems
  • no respiratory conditions
  • no diabetes

Volunteers will also have the opportunity to take part in a further 12-week exercise study.

Check your BMI.
