Funeral services: Professor Phil Scott and Miss Gwyneth Lewis

The funeral services for two members of staff who died recently are taking place today (Wednesday 27 July 2011).

That for Professor Scott (School of Education) will be held at 1.30pm at Park Wood Crematorium, Park Road, Elland, HX5 9HZ, and afterwards at the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top, Huddersfield, HD3 3RH.

There are to be family flowers only. Donations may be made to the British Heart Foundation or to support science students/teachers (details to follow). Donations can be made directly or via the funeral directors: Valley Funeral Service, Valley Road, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire HX7 7BZ.

To give the family some idea of numbers, anyone intending to be present is invited to let Anne Twigg know as soon as possible (A.F.Twigg@education.leeds.ac.uk).

The funeral service for Miss Lewis (Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine) will take place at 12.20pm at Lawnswood Crematorium, Otley Road, Leeds 16.

In keeping with Gwyneth's wishes, there will be no gathering after the service and no flowers. If anyone wishes to make a donation, Gwyneth requested that this be made to support research into Alzheimer's disease.

In memory of Gwyneth Lewis and Phil Scott, the flag will be flown at half-mast on the Parkinson Building on Wednesday.
