Leeds’ graduate employment rates improve
Figures for 2009/10 university leavers show that 92.6% of Leeds graduates were in employment or further study six months after graduating, an improvement on the previous year.
The number in graduate-level jobs also increased - by 7% compared to 2008/09.
The Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) has published its Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education 2009/10 report, which covers 165 UK higher education institutions.
Some of the key findings of the report include:
- A higher proportion of graduates than in previous years had found employment within 6 months
- Fewer had gone on to further study
- Of those employed, fewer were in part-time employment, and more were self-employed
- Of those who did go on to further study, a higher proportion were studying for professional qualifications
