ISS training rooms and staff courses will be free from 1 August
From 1 August 2011 you will be able to book ISS training rooms free of charge. All standard staff courses run by the IT Training Unit will also be free from this date.
Standard staff courses, such as Microsoft Office courses, will be free of charge to all staff. However there will be a charge for specialist courses where trainers need to be bought in from outside the IT Training Unit, or where significant development time is necessary, and for closed courses run for particular faculties or groups only.
The ISS IT Training unit has 3 computer training rooms on level 6 E C Stoner (16, 9 and 8 seats) with dedicated technical support. Previously, internal bookings for these rooms had a £50 charge per day; however ISS have made a decision to remove these charges and offer these rooms free of charge for staff and postgraduate training.
Please note: the training rooms are only available for PC-based training courses - they are not suitable for use as meeting rooms.Posted in: University news
