There has been a small drop in staff and students cycling to the University. However, it is still higher than in previous years. The largest change for staff is the increase in bus usage, returning to normal levels after last year's drop. For students there has been a further increase in walking to the University combined with a drop in single occupancy car use for the first time since the survey has run. This could be explained by the continued rise in the cost of running petrol, insurance etc.
The sustainable development team will use the results to inform ongoing development work on the University's travel plan.
Previous years' surveys have led to the bus company First improving their services after usage dropped off, and Leeds City Council investing in more cycle routes.
