Guardian university league table 2011

Leeds has moved from 35th to 37th place in the Guardian university league table published on 17 May 2011.

The Guardian table is aimed at first degree students and, unlike other university league tables, concentrates on teaching and teaching resources without taking research ratings or research funding into account. It has an overall ranking but also includes subject-specific rankings. Several Russell Group institutions have seen big changes in their overall position this year with drops and rises of 7 to 10 places.

The Guardian takes into account:

  • National Student Survey scores
  • staff/student ratios
  • spend per student
  • career prospect information taken from HESA Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education statistics
  • entry tariffs
  • value added (entry requirements compared to final degree classification)
